‘It would be smart to discuss this on telegram’: China’s digital territorialization project and its spatial effects on contentious politics

چکیده
Despite extensive literature examining digital activism, there is limited geographical research exploring the spatialities of digitally centred contentious politics. This article makes use recent territory, terrain, sovereignty and territorialization projects to produce a conceptual framework that can make sense complex geographies activism in contemporary China. It then uses this analyse spatial effects development on those practising politics To do this, it case study #BeijingSurgery#, Beijing-centred hashtag instant messaging project attempting contest narratives around eviction migrants from Beijing 2017.
